Ummmm... What the?
Hey guys, in my QT tank just noticed white gooey lookin stuff on the suction cups for my heater, and around most of the plastic on the heater.. what is it?
Stressed!!! how do i remove it? is it toxic to the fish?
What is ittttttt?!!!

Nothing to worry about Benny.
It's a type of algae or fungus. In fact if you have any bristlenose cats in your tank, they love it.
It is totally non toxic, just unsightly. You can wipe it off with a piece of white paper towel if you wish, but it is honestly nothing to worry about.

yeah they quite yucky just get some BN and it will dissappear

Yes Junior, usually on new plastic or rubber fittings.

this stuff hasnt grown in my tanks for ages.... paricularlt the 6fter? wonder why that is?
probably those gibbies r responsible
