New to discus
I am happy to find this forum. like a lot of new owners of discus I probably did everything wrong. I have been in the fish hobby 60 years, but this is my first adventure with discus. I am raising Tropheus duboisi and put 5- 5.5 inch Discus in the 200 gallon tank with 13 small (one inch) tropheus, they seem to be getting along OK.
I also have 4 in a 40 tank. two pair that I got seem to be staying together and fighting others... both pair staked out a place in the tank. the fish are about 5.5 inches. only have a few ancistrus with them. established tank.
Both tanks are very well planted (bare bottom) just pots and rocks maybe planted too well I am doing a 40 to 50 5 water change once or twice a week. ph 7, temp 28-29C waiting to test the hardness on a meter. but I used to raise Ancistrus , and they breed like rabbits so that is the quality of the water. I plan to just let them grow and spawn . any advice?
