Discus aquarium substrate
Hi, I need some advice on the types/brands of substrates for a planted discus aquarium and what are best to use. I have been looking at Eco Complete and Dupla Ground etc. Can anyone help?
Thanks

eco complete can buffer your water UP slightly (0.25-0.5 degrees), as can flourite black, onxy will buffer up by by 1 degree pH.
Red sea flora base, ADA amazonia, ADA malaya will buffer down slightly (0.6 degrees pH).
Dupla ground, flourite in my tanks has no effect on ph at all.
UP Aquasoil didnt buffer my pH much at all (maybe 0.1-0.25 degree UP but reaching the limit of my meter) but did release ALOT of ammonia into the water.
