    HMA FILTER QUESTION

    HI
Just bought myself a two stage HMA filter for the tap water. The untreated tapwater is PH6.5, however, after filtering it through the HMA it rises to PH7.5. Why is this?? is it because the filter is new and just needs running in?? Any advise would be appreciated, cheers

I have the same thing with my RO filter, turns it to 7.5 afterwards. Thats just what happens after te water becomes "clean". Just add some ph down.

i thought HMA filters just removed heavy metals and chlorine, and should not alter the hardness or pH (as RO filters do) Or am i wrong??

That I'am not sure about... but thr PH turning to 7.5 could just be from removing the chlorine and heavy metals. But you'l have to wait for someone whois 100% sure on that one.
