Currently we are waiting for pricing back from 3 different suppliers in Asia and Germany.

If the price and quality are good, we will certainly be getting them.

I would be interested in the tweezers and scissors only if they are of the apropriate length. What size are they?

Also the glass diffusor also looks interesting.

Cheers,
Vien.

that glassware is cheap to the point of being ridiculous.
how can a local glassblower compete with chinese prices?
answer is ... can't :(

The prices also represent bulk buying...

I am sure if you were to buy only a couple of items (from a wholesale point of view) the price would be double or triple what they are above.

I like the option but agree with Chris our resident glassblower - would prefer to get behind a resident aussie and resident forum member who would still be way cheaper than the premium brands mentioned..............

I would be really interested in glassware (or clear plastics) to replace my ugly eheim 'green' inlet and outlet pipes. I wonder if this kind of product is available (for a reasonable price) ? Thanks

If we can get locally made products at a good price we will certainly promote them and stock them over imported products.

Great idea Stingray - I'd be interested in the Eheim "green tube" replacements too!

Do the diffusor's do the same job as a CO2 reactor?

I have a dupla reactor S on my tank and was wondering if the diffusor's are as good as a reactor?

Thanks,
Dave.

As per Davo's question, I am also curious about the way the glass diffusor's work. I use an aquamedic reactor 1000 which is similar to Davo's Dupla unit. I would assume that use of these glass diffusors would negate the need for the heavy duty reactors that we use ?

i doubt they work as wel as the reactors, also you may find the water full of micro bubbles giving it a cloudy kinda look, im not 100% sure but i dnt think they work aswel as the reactors.

In actual fact they do just as good a job, if not better than a lot of the diffusors available. Due to the tiny size of the air bubble, or more to the point C02 bubble, there is more exposure to the water. However, if it is placed anywhere near a filter outlet or powerhead, then it will stream the bubbles everywhere, which depending on your application rate can look a little messy.

It really comes down to what you like, personally I like seeing a stream of bubbles being emitted from a small glass diffusor, but that is me... I also use powered and external diffusors, it all depends on the tank size, and what you like.

What actually ended up happening with this idea re: importing glassware?

I'm interested in purchasing a diffuser, but having a tough time trying to purchase one, and would prefer to stay away from Ebay.

Anyone know of any aquariums or importers in Sydney?

We are still in the process of organising some glassware to be imported and are looking at several different suppliers and manufacturers.

We would rather take a bit of extra time sourcing good quality and well priced products than just getting the stuff we were originally looked at which are listed all over e-bay etc...

Sorry i know this is proably a really stupid question but i keep finding conflicting data as to how big a tank glass diffusers are good for, I've got 3x 450L, 1x650L all plant tanks. I like the look of the bubbles, would these be suitable for my tanks? if so PLEASE count me in!

Davo

I take it that the diffuser is connected directly to the CO2 gas, as compared to a reactor which is connected to the output of your filter.

Dave.
