Hi All,
These guys have been in my 5x2.5x2.5 for three weeks now and are showing their true stripes.
Gonna have to get a few more when Ravi's next batch arrive I think!
Enjoy!

Tony they look fantastic, and that's some great photography too.
I went back to Ravi and bought 6 more, so I've got 16 of the little guys now. Really great, healthy little fish. I'm thrilled with mine, and I bet you are too.
The big thing with altums is to keep them healthy, because they don't respond at all well to medications. They're one of those fish that just give up, so keeping your tank absolutely disease free is terribly important.
Good luck with your babies.

Thanks everyone. I got six off Ravi but unfortunately lost one down my sump cos my strainer came off whilst I was out.
I want to add another 5 when the next lot arrive. Hope it'll be ok.
Ladyred, mine are eating like pigs and are growing quite fast. How long til they get to full size?

I'm glad they're doing well Tony. Shame about the 6th one, but unfortunately accidents sometimes happen.
It will be around 2 years before they are fully grown, and at that time they will be around 40 to 50 cm tall.

What size tank do you need to keep them at that size??

I guess the bigger, the better, but I'd suggest a 6 x 2 x 2 would be an absolute minimum.
I'm keeping mine in a 10 x 2.5 x 2.5 but the previous group I had lived quite happily for two years in an 8 x 2 x 2.
