Yeah, I've got a pair of L. curviceps. SLS had some in July or thereabouts.

Depends on which particular pics you mean ;)
I have the curviceps with some apistos and blue rams. Certainly for colour, they are not as nice as the other dwarves, in my opinion. However, they kinda add a different dimension and variety to the tank since they are a lot larger and wider, and have great personality. They are gentle giants (compared with the other dwarves) - they don't seem to go on the warpath like the others, but they don't take any shit either.
The male and female like to snuggle up to each other.
And they look really good during spawning time with blue, yellow, hint of green and a bit of red.

OK, I see what you mean now... if you look at the following link, it shows the L. curviceps in a variety of different base colours. http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&q=Laetacara+curviceps&spell=1
The pair I have is more of the blue-green tint rather than the reddish one in your pic...
It seems to mix quite well with the other dwarves. Whereas apisto species mess with each other, this doesn't mess with the apistos and the apistos don't seem to want to mess with them (maybe due to their size)
Except for spawning time,of course, during which it has issues with any traspassers, cousin or not ;)

It's interesting to see that their are different variations with the base colour - anyone know much more about these guys?
might spend some time doing a bit more research into em...

G'day
According to the following article http://www.aquariumfish.com/aquariumfish/detail.aspx?aid=3078&cid=53&search=
The body is typically blue in overall color cast and the unpaired fins are generously stippled with bright blue spots, often on a red-orange base color. There is also a red variety.

Thats a pretty good (long) read.. Definately seems that the body colour should have more of a blue to it.
