Which Bacterial Additive do you use?

Just wondering what everyone here uses with their tanks?

I've used Sera products since I started about 14 months ago mainly as it was what the LFS suggested when I was getting into the hobby. Haven't really tried anything else since.

Just looking at options now and comparing to see whether I should change? I'm also setting up a new tank and hoping to get some Discus so want to be sure I'm using a product that will be OK with them.

What experience have people had with other makes/products?

I have used all of them, and in all honesty cant complain about any of them.

From a commercial point of view, I learnt very early on why some shops push some brands, it is about margins, and it is about ensuring the same customer keeps coming back (i.e. heavily promote the least concentrated product as it wont last as long).

So with this in mind

Hagen Cycle - 5ml per 19L on day 1, then 5ml per 38L thereafter
Seachem Stability - 5ml per 40L on day 1, then 5ml per 80L thereafter
Sera Nitrivec - 5ml per 20L on day 1, then 5ml per 40L thereafter

Is this product used just at the set up of a new tank, or as an ongoing additive with every waterchange?

Can be both... usually used at start ups, or after using hard hitting meds
