Picked up this pair from Heinz about a month ago and popped them into a bare bottom 2x12 quarantine tank with a few cardinals. I was meant to be setting up a 2X18, got side tracked and now they've spawned in this tank! Mum's got the cardinals s***-scared and cowering in the far corner
Sorry about the dirty glass

I've just been watching these guys and the brood care is amazing, mum's letting dad help out, they both suck up mouthfuls of the guys and drop them back with the main batch when they stray too far...very interesting to watch. I thought my tanganyikan shelldwellers were good parents, but all they've been doing lately is eating their young'ns

Chrisso: Well done. I've also got a pair of double reds, they're in a planted tank with cardinals and although they're in good health and show interest in each other they haven't spawned yet. Could you let me know pH, temp you keep them at.
Thanks
Grant.

pH is 6.3 and temp is 25, spawn seems to be a bit smaller today too  I fed them a mix of NLS, frozen foods like brine, mysis and daphnia and mum just got fatter and fatter until POP :D
