What you need:

Yates Cheated Iron
Yates Trace Elements
Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt) MgSO4
Potassium Sulfate K2SO4
Potassium Nitrate KNO3
Distilled Water H20

How to Mix

250Ml H20
6 Tea Spoons K2SO4
2 Tea Spoons KNO3
4 Tea Spoons MgSO4
1 Tea Spoon Trace Elements
1 Tea Spoon Cheated Iron.

I don't use PMDD but have read many people that do with great success. A lot cheaper than using commercial products.

Do you just mix those with 250 ML of water? How many do you need to put in the tank? how often?

They seemed to add it to boiling water, I guess so most of the product dissolves. I read somewhere else who uses a similar makeup that he adds 15ml of product daily to his 6x2x2

I think that youre much better off adding each to your tank seperately. I was using pmdd for a while, but it doesnt cater for each settup. For example, my nitrate levels went up to 160ppm, but my phosphate, were at 2ppm. Big algea bloom! Sice then ive ordered all of the chems so that I can control each level. I dont need to be dosing nitrates at all.

I think I'll stay away from making the recipe. I'm still a noob in planted. I'll stick to the commercial product for the time being.
