Canon has released 3 new compact digital cameras that not only feature the low light ISO 1600 mode (which previously has been the domain of expensive DSLR cameras) but also a specific "aquarium" mode design to enable users to shoot through glass better.
The models released with these features are the 10mp Canon G7, The IXUS 900 and the IXUS 850IS.
While these cameras will not offer the performance of a true DSLR they may well offer the first real alternative for users who would like to shoot nice aquarium photos without spending upwards of $1500 on a DSLR and lenses.

They are available now but you don't need one darling ... you have a DSLR
These cameras are only for people who do not have a DSLR or the money to afford one.
Any DSLR is going to be vastly superior to one of these.
