How to deworm discus!

Hi i've looked on google for the answer, but I cant seem to find a definiative answer! I would like to know how to deworm discus and whether it will affect a planted tank? I have a barebottom tank, but the trick is I have potted plants in the tank. I have heard meds such as metro etc etc but juse wondering which is the best one to use and what routines the forum users use?!
