opinions please

theres a picture compition where i live??
and you have to take a picture of your best fish its called
Do You Have The Best Looking Fish?
and it also say this "Make sure the fish isn't blurry as marks will be deducted for blur. We are looking for the most clear and beautiful fish picture possible so be creative"
well i thought why not take a shot for some money.
my camera sucks so i borrowed my dads
well i got one picture the fish is perfect but the background is off.
so i thought i would ask your opinions.

I don't think it's good enough to win a competition.
I'm no expert but I believe the fish should be centered and a clean sharp shot with good color. Your pic has the fish up at the top and it's not a sharp shot, it's a little out of focus.
If the discus pic is sharp then the background being out of focus isn't a big deal as some people do like that effect. It comes down to personal choice. Also it's very important to take a full shot of the discus without any fins etc being chopped of.

Don't get me wrong it's a nice picture but if you want to win a competion then it has to be better.

My advise is use a good quality digital camera get plenty of light over the tank and take heaps of shots (50-100) you'll sure to get a few good ones then.

use a wider angle for more depth of field. the fish is a bit out of focus. your dad's camera looks like its very good, maybe a few more tries are needed.

ok i figured i didnt want to.
im just trying to figure out my dads camera to get a good one. i got a month. i just love the way the fish is.
and dont forget they move.lol.
ill keep trying.
and the other ones alreay on there arent very good either. lol.
some are all blurry and dark and there is only one good picture.
but thanks i will keep trying post agian.

It is a pretty photo but I think not for a competition.. I am sure everyone will still appreciate your pretty discus. :-)

i took so many pictures. and i always find something little ,wrong with it.
