It is with great regret that I have to mention that Merrilyn (Ladyreds) father Les passed away this evening after suffering a sudden heart attack. I had the privilege of knowing Les and he was a wonderful bloke always bright and full of warmth and proud of his family and country. I am sure I join you all in offering deepest sympathy and support to Merrilyn who has done so much for all of us here and her mother Shirley who has lost her life long partner and Merrilyns husband and children at this sad and difficult time.

Like Taksan I had the privilege and honor of meeting Les. Over the last few months I had many conversations with Les about the “old days” He spent some time over seas during the war.
For his age he was a very gentle but proud man, always taking interest in Merrilyn’s fish. My thoughts are with you Shirley, Merrilyn and family.

This year seems to be the year for losing fathers. I know 3 people who have lost their father ... including me (my father was just 61 and apparently healthy when he collapsed and passed away).

our thoughts are with you, Merrilyn, and if you're the kind of person who runs around taking care of everyone around you in times like this, then stop and take some care of yourself too, or let someone else look after you. It sounds like your family is a close one, and that's very important.
