Ive seen alot of reference by ppl in the U.S to 29gal (breeding) and 55gal (Growout) tanks, iam just wonder what the measurements for these tanks are, mainly the 29's as i want to get a couple for a new rack.
Ive worked out a few diferent dimentions what would be the best for breeding.??
- 18x18x20 = 28.05gals
- 19x19x19 = 29.69gals
- 20x16x24 = 33.24gals
- 18x18x24 = 33.66gals
- 20x20x18 = 31.17gals
Any others??
What wold be the best and what are most people in the U.S refering to when they say 29's there must be a standard, that is available from LFS's.
Cheers
Scott

Flukes I got a 29g and a 40g breeding tank. The 29g is a 30x14x18 and the 40g is 36x14x18 which I got from Mentone for $39.95 but you have to mention you saw the special on there website.

I get most things cheaper at mentone anyway because my mate works their and i have been buying tanks off them for a long time.
Iam not sure if 30x14x18 is what iam after i think i need to really look at the space it needs too fit in and work from their.

It actually holds less than 28.05 gallons, 30x12x18 was an outside measurement.
