I've recently aquired a fairly nice Orange Flash Caca and was wondering if he bred with my double red(I think) female would I be more likely to get a 50/50 ratio or would it depend on whats in the breeding lines of both fish???
Has either strain been proven to be dominant over the other?
Should I consider breeding them together or get an Orange Flash female for him to play with?

I was going really well until I hit something that resembled algebra!
I'll read it again when it's not 3:30am and I don't have the soccer on telly yelling at me.

basically suggesting that the yellow gold/orange flash genetics are recessive
so if you outcross with a standard double red you will see either no orange young or if you doube red is already crossed then 1/4 of the young will be orange
simple mendelian genetics and homozygous(pure geneticaly) or heterozygous cross ratio's
if you cross out you will need at least 2 generations to get back to the colour you like

Yeah I read it again today and it made a lot more sense.
I think I'll cover all bases and pick me up an OF female and have a bit of a play around.
