Does anyone have the common name for what is called Putumayo discus?

that is the common name...or at least one of the common names ... another one is simply "green discus". the only endemic discus population found in Peru comes from the Putumayo. hence the name putumayo discus will denote a wild discus, rather than a tank bred strain. the scientific denotation of the putamayo discus is Symphysodon aequifasciata aequifasciata
there are other populations of discus in Peru, however those are the result of man-made blunders, such as the population in the Rio Nanay.

Interesting. Is there a reason why they are so damn expensive? I have two varients on my list. on with red spots.
