View Full Version : Hello and a little story of what brought me to get discus.

My name is Jen and my husband Troy might be using this site to as his questions are different then mine.
We have a ten gallon tank including guppies and a shark.
We planned on buying a 70 gallon plus tank. Not knowing what to get because me and my husband never agree on anything. I wanted oscars he wanted cichlids. Well doing a search for other forms of cichlids that could go with oscars. I came across these most beautiful fish i have ever seen. I was like " Dad what are those?"I was at his house and he is like those are discus. I was like wow. Doing more research and sending the site to my husband there was the purple fish that he wanted and i was like "see thats the fish troy wants and my dad was like that is a discus too. Never seeing or hearing of these fish. So then we agreed finally on something. so we bought a book and studyed on the net finally got a tank and got it set up.
And in the next week or two we will be proud discus owners.
after months of waiting and waitng.
so you will being seing alot of me.
and i will post pictures soon. when i have the fish

Very nice tank!!

Im usually not a fan of coloured gravel but your tank is an exception!!!

we wanted to get the white sand stuff but our fish stores suck. The only had colored rocks.
Or That geo crap in white but it changes ur water. Thats why we only have five plants. We wanted a fully planted tank before we got them but its gonna have to go slow due to our stores suckyness.
Im not sure what kind we are going to get. We like the mixed colored ones. We are probably going to order a couple off the net with another lady off this site. half shipping. We live near each other. And then later on we will just have to pick what we like later on.
They are really over priced here . About 100 dollors or more for a baby. And if they are average price they arent the best looking.
i personally like snakeskins

lol we have nothing nice here.
that also depened where you go but mostly its just farm land. lol
i havent driven far in years but thats alal i ever remember big fields and pepoples farms.
