Font color: hey guys just need some lighting help?

i have a 72"x18"x14" planted discus tank for lighting i was going to buy:

Aqua One Reflector AL-20D (24'' Double) 2ft
Aqua One Reflector AL-30D (36'' Double) 3ft

now the thing is what kind of bulbs do i want to buy?

help,help :?:

i actually just ordered the Aqua One Reflector AL-30D (36'' Double) 3ft last week. with the globes im goin to buy them from my lfs, power-glow tube its 30w great for planted tanks, not 100% sure what tubes ill buy for the new aqua one light yet though.

i talked to proteus and he said that the bulbs that come with them would be fine. so thats what im going to do,easy lol :D

youll be in the same boat man.

The AquaOne reflectors come with a standard daylight tube, and a planted tank tube (or similar).

They should be fine for the first 9-12 mths.

The questions you need to ask yourself before spending and $$$ is how much of an emphasise do you want to place on the plants?

You can buy 6ft light reflectors (4 x 3ft tubes) however they wont be found online due to the size of the units.

There are other options such as T5 lighting which would also fit perfectly on a 6ft tank, provide a lot more light, however they cost more...
