Thought I'd just show some of the wild discus I've been conditioning and growing since they arrived from Peru. They're now about 4"-5.5"

I have to say this... it is amazing how stunning wilds are even though they are not as "vibrant" as their commercially bred mates....
Wild Discus have a True beauty all their own!
They are so nice Kevkoi.... you should be proud.

hi kev
did you get wild caught pairs?
or they been caught one by one?
i thought its hard to get wild caught pairs
due to that they get fright when caught and
swim away. any ways , nice looking fish there.
cheers. ben

when we buy them we buy them as singles. This lot of fish have been with me for nearly 2months now. One pair have formed up.... The rest are bachelors and bachelorettes.

Kev,
When you cross a wild discus to a domestic - do you think it results in better growth rates and end sizes?
Kind of similar to how heckel hybrids usually grow up to 7 or 8 inches...

Those bleeding hearts are really nice.
I rarely see them about these day's...
Are you using them as dither fish for the wilds Kev ?
It's a pity one doesn't see the bleeding hearts more often.....or hear them being suggested as tanks mates for the discus.
Great looking fish you got there.
Are they going to be heading down under ?
BTW can I ask what PH you have your wilds in ?
Cheers,
Mark

SLS is rolling in Bleeding heart tetras!! I think they've got more than they know what to do with them...
Bleeding hearts are great... Trouble is that they get quite large, are all wildcaught and quite pricey.
U want bleeding hearts, call SLS.. they should be coming to around about 5cm now (Big for a tetra!).

Thanks for the heads up Kev.
The getting large aspect, that should be of no concern to the discus or angels for instance, or should it ?
I would only plan on about 8 of them in a 350 liter tank with say 5 dicus or six angels......
Pity I'm not ready for them right now
Cheers,
Mark
