Hi guys,

Normally, we only see pictures of males. I think the females are no less pretty and often, their brooding behaviour/character more than makes up for their lack of colors.

Here's a female Apistogramma viejita that I shot last year.

Love the intense yellow coloration! Like a New York taxi!!

I have to agree with you on that, benny, people often confuse colour with beauty and undoubtedly while a lot of colourful fish are truly beautiful, many are overlooked because they don't have the same kind of colour ranges.
If it was all about the beauty of colour, I think I'd have stuffed fish instead of living ones, they eat less. I think there is a lot of beauty in the way some fish look after their young, or protect their realms, or just in the way they move. A lot of fish are considered ugly, but there is a lot of beauty in them if you have more understanding of everything else they do.
This girl of yours is a real cutie!
