Yes you can.... I have just recently put 3 littlies in with my older ones and I have found that the big ones dont really take much notice of the small ones (they are no threat to them so they dont bully them)

at feeding time I tend to feed in a few different sections of the tank.... each end at back and in front... that way the food is spread out and I always make sure that the littlies get their fair share....(they havent had any probs so far and have been in there for about 3-4 weeks)

here are a couple of pics....

You will need more water changes for the small ones to grow. I read somehwere that the adult will release some hormine that restrict the grouth of young fish. More water changes fix that problem.

I'm no expert and that's just I read somewhere.

BTW, good pics Sam.

I have done similar and the effects were great the young ones are more comfortable and confident now they have big protectors, and the older ones feel comfy in a large group :)

This is apparently true ... Jack Wattley's term for this is "growth inhibiting toxin" ... nothing like a bit of poison to keep the competition stunted, eh? ... It's ok to keep the young ones with the big ones, this growth inhibitor won't harm them, just don't expect them to grow fast or to their maximum size.
