Hi All,

I have 5 x Red Horse Faces coming from a fastidiously maintained tank.

1 x male 6 inches
1 x female 5 inches
1 x male 5.5 inches
1 x male 5 inches
1 x female 4 inches

The first two are a proven breeding pair. I've attached pictures of the male, and the female with eggs on a rock.

I am wanting to trade with someone for discus. I am interested in big, small, a lot, a little, i would be happy to talk with anyone who may want to trade. I am setting up my 3 foot tank as a discus tank with the thought to move them into my 5 footer eventually.

I don't want to separate my Red Horse Faces.
I am not interested in an interstate transaction, I'm in Melbourne.
They must be from a well maintained tank too!

Thanks everyone!
Al

Hi Nick,

You can buy Red Horse Face (Geophagus Altifrons, Surinimensis) juvis from anywhere from $6-$15. Adults $50-$60. They are a really hardy South American Cichlid and in my experience grow quite fast. People say Red Horse Faces are more agressive than Green Horse Faces. While Green Horse Faces (Satanopercan Leucostica) are definately more gentle than Red's, I would call the Red's more 'assertive' not agro.

That being said, my feeling was that I did not want to keep Red Horse Faces and Discus together at this stage. However people have kept them together with success.

Keeping Discus with Green Horse Faces however, I would recommend!
