Juwel Rio 400 (60 x 24 18")
Arcadia I-Bar T5 lighting (2 x 54w)
Eheim 2329 pro wet / dry external filter
Eheim pro 2 2018 external filter
TMC vecton UVC sterilizor
JBL profi co2 kit plus Ph controller

2 x 10 gallon water changes a week (with ro / tap mix), being upped to 2 x 20 galons per week (200 litres / week)

Stock is as follows;

6 x 6" discus
30 x Cardinal tetras
2 x Ram cichlids
2 x Apisto agassizi
3 x Corydoras Julii
Today will be adding 2 x L177 golden nugget plecs, and will be adding 2 x 6" discus to finish off setup in the near future (then convincing fiancee to let me upgrade to 6x2x2 or 7x2x2 tank :D ).

However did a water test recently nitrate was 50 mg / l? Also i have an algae problem? Do u reckin there is enough space to add an extra 2 discus?

Thats a really nice community tank you got there !!! nice work.
I love watching those tetras, and that ram is awsum.

I'd work on stabilising your parameters before adding in more discus though. It should correct your algae issue when you do.

have a look at the planted tanks section those guys shoudl be able to assist you further!

best of luck and keep the photo section updated :)

Hi gex, love the tank. Beautiful set up. I calculate that out to be around 112 US gallons which is 424 litres. Rule of thumb is 10 gallons per adult fish, so you can easily add another two 6 inch discus. The rest of the fish in there represent a very small bio load, so you're still well within the recommended limits.

I'm concerned that your nitrate is so high. Increase your water changes till you get it under 20. Your fish will be a lot happier with that reading.

As what ladyred mentioned i would increase water changes. This will lower the nitrate issue.

i love all of your fish but the golden nuggets really catch my eye!

Are GN's readily available and cheap in the States?

Thanks for the pic's.

cheers
