Hi All,

I want to buy a 6x2x2 tank with hood, stand and plumbing, also a sump thing sounds like the go, and lights.

my question is though does anyone recommend any shops in sydney where i can purchase for a good price ? or does anyone here have this sort of thing for sale ?

Just an FYI, with a 6x2x2, a stand is not really an option due to the weight, cabinet is better IMO.

thanks guys thats great ... i guess i need to save up some pennies :) with the plumbing is that for an cannister filter ?

If you were using a Canister filter you would not need the plumbing & bulkheads, or the weir and holes.

Canister filters come with there own hoses, and fittings (you pay for them as part of the filter).

To use a sump, you need high capacity hoses (preferably re-inforced) to go to the sump, and to return to the tank. You also need the fittings (bulkhead) which attaches the hose to the tank, and to the sump.

Although this isnt a matrix style sump (and it is not under the tank due to its large size - it was going under another tank soon after), this may give you an idea of some of the plumbing.

oh ok its just that i have seen tanks where they have drilled holes in the bottom and put the cannister inlet and outlet through them and thought thats what they meant

im just curious, why are sumps so expensive? a 2x2x2 would cost about $150? and plus the media.

is it because of the convenience of it readily made?

Including a 6500lph pump and many kg's of Matrix, plus other bits and pieces, as well as internal baffle walls.

Other than that??? you could always buy a perspex sump, however it doesnt come with a pump for $879

I have to eheim 2217's, would they be sufficient for 6x2x2 and would they be better than a sump ?
