HI i'm looking to set up a 6*18*18 tank for 30 odd babys 50c size. And was wondering if 3 sponge filters will do until i get one of these http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au/prod1130.htm with a 6w uv on it. How often should i change the water for maximum groth? Also wondering if i need to add anything special to the water to grow them out to breeding size? Will this tank be big enough to leave the 30 of them until breeding size? If i was to feed them these http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au/prod572.htm with frozen brine shrimp and blood worms with ben beef heart recipe will these be enough or should i give them something else as well. If i left anything out that i should know please let me know because i've read most things on this site but these not much information on the growth between fry and breeding size.

Hi Troy,

welcome to the forum.

You could grow 30 discus to adult size in a tank of that size but it would mean many water changes, even doing water changes twice per day.

Regardless of what sort of filtration you use, water changes are a must.
