Okay, so they're not discus, but these little guys are cute.
Water changes are a challenge, cos dad headbuts the syphon hose. It's rare to keep the fry in with parents, as angels are notorious for eating their eggs or fry, but these two have been such protective parents, I'm reluctant to remove them.
So here they are, mum and dad with their 300 children

I bought them as a breeding pair. They had spawned before, but the eggs were always taken away. They were so protective of their eggs, I didn't have the heart to take them away this time.
They were sold as Peruvian altums. Now, I'm definately no angel expert, so if someone knows any different, please enlighten me.
Anyway, whatever they are, they are a lovely pair, and it's a charming sight to see them so protective of their fry.

I am reliably informed (thanks for the heads up Kev) that these are probably Zebra Angels with a veiltail gene. LOL the plot thickens.
Well I've done quite a search on the net, and I can't find anything with exactly the same description as these guys, so I guess I'll just call them angels LOL.
If anyone knows their true identity, let me know :P

Yes it is a small tank Nick. I had no idea that the population would increase from 2 to 302 in such a short time. Wish I'd started them off in a bigger tank now.
Daily water changes are keeping things under control at the moment, but the move will have to be made soon
Don't think Dad will be very impressed to lose his children.

They are really sweet Merrilyn.
Might be hard on Dad to lose them, but I bet it will be even harder on you when it is time to move them on.
Regards,
Marg.
