2X Heater Q's????

Hi guys,

Need some help setting up the 2 heater for my 4 foot tank.
i got 1x 300Watts heater, and 1x 250Watts with external controller.
I would like to set my tank temp to around 28 degree, now with the first heater should i set it to 26 degress as a backup and use the 2rd heater to control the tank temp??? or should i be setting them both the same degress???

I would set them at both 28.c

but moniter the temp for a few days to make sure all is well and use 2 thermometers, one on each side of the tank.

Ok i had set up 2 thermometers on each side of the tank, and the temp reading is diff one is 29 and one is 28, don't know which one is the accurate one ???
