Where are u located?? That's quite a bit to pay for rummy nose tetras and cardinals....
However, rummynoses make great tankmates for discus. Cardinals tend to be a snack for large discus.

i think rummynose tetras are extremely slow for tetras! they stick to their pack and only have short spurts of swimming. not much of a darty fish but definetly one of the best discus tank mates!!!!

Um, rummynoses too slow golden pigeon? Maybe I don't read sarcasm that well over the internet, or maybe you are being serious?? :?
Sharn: I think rummynoses are a very good choice for discus. I have them and cardinals in with my discus. Rummynoses, in my opinion, are extremely active and "playful" in the tank. It's takes a little adjusting to when you are used to watching how cardinals swim. It depends what you like really. Now that I'm used to them moving about quickly in my tank, I really like them and would recommend them highly. I have found them to be very hardy too. They won't startle the discus or anything with their fast swimming...
Cheers,
Claire.

The best tankmates IMO as they school beautifully, are playful and are really pretty little fish Sharn.

My rummynoses have been in the tank for about 18 months now, all doing well with the adult discus and I would say they are pretty close to the 4cm mark as well... we've got one that has got one eye which my 6yr old is most impressed with!
