Thanks everyone for the kind comments

Yes Duck i run presuriesed Dupla CO2 system and I have only 7x 36w T8 6500k tubes.

Not sure how to convert Litres to Gallons so how many gallons are in 400L of water for those who may now

I don't dose ferts but am going to soon as the plants seem to become almost see thru... do u think this could be calcium :?:

Cheers guys :thumb

You have doen a fantastic job. Well done!

The weak leaves is due to a lack of MgSo4 (Magnesium Sulphate) aka epsons salt.

I have made reference to this in the following post along with the recepie i use in my 860 Ltr tank.

I have yet to update the pictures but my tank looks like this

Hey thanks man I will certainly keep you all posted I got some Seachem Florish this morning and will be dosing that up... if you were in postion what would else would u add to the tank ferts etc?

If I add Seachem Florish 3ml after each weekly w/c will this be enough if not... if I was to does 3ml 2 times a week would this cause more algae :?:

Would a good combination be 3ml of Florish 2 times a week and 3 - 4ml of Iron 1 time a week :?:

What do u suggest i do i don't want to go out and spend $100 on Seachem ferts as i'm trying to set up a 5ft tank at the moment and the planted tank seems to be going fine but just want to give it a healping hand if you know what i mean

Hey for alll you high lighted people what would u recommend for a DIY reflector for under my hood? I did have just the pine finsih and thought tin foil might help and it did nothing at all was just woundering what you guys reccomend for something that you will notice a difference.

Thanks for ta help in advance

Can someone help me out I need with this little problem :?

I am woundering how many bubbles per sec is good for a 4x2x2ft becuase at the moment I have 3 bubbles per sec i think.. could have to much co2 injected into the cause this cloudness?

Thanks for ya help :D

I haven't had this problem doseing seachem product's,Maybe it's just a little bloom and hopefully it will settle down
To see if you have enough CO2 take a PH reading then a KH reading,
Then Look here (http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=23531)

Tue Dec 13, 2005, 11:31 AM
Well i had just done a 40% w/c and my ph is 6.0 and KH is about 0 or .5 :?

What PH and KH do plants need to thrive :? ?

Thanks for ya help :D

Cheers Del i appreciate it

It's becoming a forest slowly LOL time is the key with most things.. longer u have fish the better they are ... the longer you have a planted the better it is etc.. everything takes time..

Hey guys this is a picture of the problem i'm having at the moment not sure deffiency I have over the last week i have noticed more and more holes in my plants leaves and woundering what people should suggest i do.

I dose Seachem Florish and Seachem iron. And have 15ppm of co2.
I'm not sure if plants need KH or not but they never have had it and haven't noticed holes in the leaves.

Hope someone can help

Any Help? With suggestions on what could be causing these holes on the leaves it is getting worse :?

duck
Fri Dec 16, 2005, 05:18 AM
It's not really the place to post this sort of question.
Hole's in plants ussally a lack of potassium,Start small then get larger.

Rick,

I looked at the top pic then the bottom with the lotus which mulisha had on another thread HERE (http://www.discusforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5276), i had thought it was some algea happening but looking at both pic's i can now see it's a rock

Mulisha,

I have my CO2 at about 30ppm. My plants have never looked better, they never stop pearling. My green lotus has gome beserk. It has 6 offshoots and the main plant is flowering.

Are you dosing KNO3, iron and some mono potassium phosphate. You might have a deficiency in one of these.

Dave.

Mulisha

At the moment all i'm dosing is Seachem Florish (speeling) and IMO i don't think it has done anything other then add algae to the tank IMHO.

If someone would know how i would be able to get rid of this algae i have?

I have admired Ducks planted tank for ages and i wish i had a tank half as good as that it has almost no algae and woundering how you did this and anyone else that has a bit of knowledge on this topic.

I currently have co2 getting injected and run 7x 36w floro tubes for 11hrs a day and dose seachem florish once a week not twice as i think this might have been the contributing factor to my algae maybe?

My aim for this tank is to remove like 11 fish from the tank when i eventually catch them not a reall big hurry then in about 4 - 5 months time add some adult discus in there but to get to this stage it will take a while as i want to get my tank growing plants very well with no ALGAE..

If someone can point me in the right direction on how to remove or maybe decrease the amount of algae growing in my tank i would be greatly apprciated

Thanks everyone for ya help and your nice comments about my tank :D :D

Bit of a update took a bit of time of fish for a while..

Not really getting back into again but thought i would post up a pic of how the tank is now .. I had a green lotus in there that i had to complety trim back all the way to the base due the size of the lily pads they were taken over the tank and those flowers they shoot up  it would send a flower up about 2 days and burn it's self on the light. :P

I think it needs that java fern trimmed back a bit it seems to take over big time

At the moment i haven't been adding any ferts or co'2 at all it's all been living off the lights and pleco poo
