okie after many unsucessful , there are about 50 wrigglers. Only 3/4 are swim free, and the pair decide to lay 150+ eggs again. I think I just leave them as normal.

hi victor

well I think I didn't do the right thing but some how it works.

I just used a soft net (big) and catch them and move them in the tank
as quick as I can. Dont think this is the good method

I had the fry tank running for 3 days(standard 2ft) before moved them in though. with same water condition and temp as the parents tank. The fry tank is next to the parents.

I try to feed them BBS while with the parents but they didn't eat. But as soon as I moved them out. They started to eat like pig. :P

I also feed them with sprinula powder(but only once per day) before w/c.

I did 90% w/c once per day before bed time.

hope this will help.

Hi everyones,
just want to update my baby reds. They are now just over 5 weeks old, I mixed them with my 3 weeks old as well as they are not far away apart.

Just wonder when they will show their red colour ? at the moment no sign only red eyes.

thanks

Good job K
I think they should colour up once they're about 8 weeks old.
Feed them lots of variety, blood worms, tetra bits, etc

Well done Marlbred. They all seem to be growing well. Keep up the good work.

Full red colour will take months to finally come through. Red fish are different from most of the other colours. The colour will begin at the outside edges of the body, and slowly fill in towards the middle. The red colour will darken and intensify as the fish matures. Some strains don't show full red colour till the fish is 8 months old. They just get more beautiful as they get older.
