Hi

I'm looking for a good quality air pump that's quiet and reliable with good air flow pressure.

I've found this one and would love to know if anybody is using one or if they know anything about it.

Thanks.. Oscar

Hi Oscar,

I have heard that they are good quality airpumps, the Atman range. Any japanese made airpump are very good and are made to last. Aswell as parts are easily available.

the brand i have is a MEDO.

Some infomation about them.

I will look into a bit further for you Oscar and see what i can find as far as other volume airpumps.
Are you thinking around 30 LPM ?

cheers,
Ben

Thanks Ben

I'm looking at around 30lts per min as I only need it to run 3 tanks and 1 water drum for now but down the track to run around 6-8 tanks in total. I think anything more will be an overkill and anything less might not be suitable.
Appreciate your help Ben, there's nothing worse than spending good money on a product only to find it doesn't suit your needs.

Thanks.. Oscar

Yeah come on guys and girls.
Everybody uses airpumps so what are some of the better brands out there that can run 4-8 tanks.

As far as quality air pumps go - I would be looking at the Stellar brand. Purely because I have 3 of these air pumps, there is no vibration and minimal noise (I have had em around 18 months now).....

Good Stuff

well I just got the pump and my first impressions were good.
It comes with an adapter so you can hook up 10 tanks.
I have it running 2 tanks and a water drum and it's doing it easy. Heaps of bubbles in fact to much.
I'ld say this unit will be perfect for 6-8 tanks.
It's very quiet and for the price it's very good value.
It's made in China and the rubber diaphram is made in Japan.
Another good thing is that it's only 20w so cheap to run.

Hi Ben

I'm very happy with this air pump.
It's very quiet and quite strong so it's able to handle multiple tanks no problems.
Great value and looks smart also.[/list]

You know I'm really surprised by the lack of interest in his post considering everybody has an airpump.

I use a standard piston air pump, i can't find the name

i prefer to use an extra EXTRA large air pump

i find it easyier to hide the noise of the air pump by putting it in a unused room and running air tubes to the tank than buying a silent air pump

plus i always seem to be aquirering new tanks! LOL

Sounds like an impressive air pump you have there Ryan.

So far the best one I've seen is Ben's. It runs all his tanks and water drums and does it easy. The thing that impressed me about it was that you can't here the pump all you can here are bubbles coming from the tanks.

LOL Oscar! not like my last 260 LPM pump, which was slowly giving me industrial deafness!
