HI Ben,
just had a look at your site.
not sure if they exist but are there cannister units which compose of a heater and maybe a U/V filter as well.
im just trying to un clutter my breeding tanks.

Um.. IMO its best to minimise waterflow in a breeding tank....
Air driven sponge filtration is the most commonly used method of filtration in breeding tanks.. I could understand the use of the combined canister in a rearing tank, but not a breeding tank per se....
Just my 2c

Hi Nick
found this on ebay mate
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-1000L-H-UV-Function-Canister-Filter-Bonus_W0QQitemZ7715516282QQcategoryZ20758QQssPageN ameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I know nonthing about this type of filter, maybe Ben from AOA can tell us.
Have a read on the link, but what i can understand it is not really an UV sterilizer, but some other sort of technology!
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Nick & Ben,
This is a Pro Aqua CF-1000 with some coarse filter sponge. It is not a miracle unit. Jebao manufacture the Pro Aqua external filters. I can sell you a CF-1000 for $75.00 and $6.50 for a coarse sponge insert lol. What Aquacor is stating on ebay is completely false.
Ben

Nick,

One of these:
http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au/prod121.htm
(i know you have a soft spot for those fluval's!)
now attach one of these
http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au/prod964.htm
and if there is any room on the outlet pipe, put one of these on!

Mate your water will be that clean you will be able to drink from it!
LOL

yep!!
thats the idea but it is the black u/v that worries me, i dont want fry attaching to it like they once did to my sponge filter, hence why i am going the good old cannister and not the sponge!
cannister can be easily used ! you just need to adjust the output !
