Hi guys,

I've got 2 little Discuses, dunno what breed it is tho. Well they are 4cm in diameters. How long does it take for it to grow to like 7-8cm in diameter? Because i have had them for a month now, and seems to be the same size. Colour is beginning to show, and they are of a pale yellow colour. Alot of black dots near the top of theirs bodies as wellz...

I have a 3 foot tank, and do weekly changes of 30%, and siphon gravel. They seem to be healthy, always ready for food everything I walk infront of the tank. No signs of clamp fins... I feed them 2 times a day, varying its diet, consists of frozen brine shrimps, frozen blood worms, and discus pellets.

Any advice will be appreciated... :)

Thnx

Sounds lyk ur doing everything should be doin... :D

The Growth of discus depends on water quality, how many times a day they are feed, the amount of water changes and temperature of the water....

Discus should be around adult size wen they are about 12months old or so...

The black dots are called peppering...so that means u have a pigeon based discus.....

HTH,

Sam....

That sounds alright to me.

Maybe you want to increase the w/c frequency to at least twice a week ?

By doing w/c you will reduce the nitrate and ammonia level in the water hence will boost their growth a bit.

Good luck
