Hi there all interested people,
The AGm was held again on Saturday just Gone.
We have got new people for the committee.
I am honoured to take on the role of President and hope to do a good job during my elected period with my other elected officals.
There is a guest speaker organised for our next meeting who will be talking about making a fish room and in particular various filtration methods and the pros and cons of each type.
The next meeting will be held on the 22nd Of October at the lions Den in Parramatta. Ross Street.
Our meetings will also start to contain more things to interest more people. Discus have been sold at the August meeting as well as some bristle nose catfish and there will be Discus and others available at the October meeting as well. There is also going to be a raffle of something but i am sure that you will want it :). As always there is a selection of cakes prepared by club members with coffee or tea for a small donation to the club.
Best of all there is real life fish enthusiasts present to answer all your questions and to talk all evening about our hobby.
We are going to run a little survey at the meeting as well and if anyone wants to answer me in a PM.
I am interested in knowing what people want for a club, and simliarly why they joined the club.
I will give my answer first.
I love keeping fish and watching them develop. The ADA provides guidance and assistance and best of all a place to be with people who enjoy the same hobby as mine. I want everyone to be able to get as much enjoyment from there fish keeping as i do. Keeping fish is my hobby and not a business, and i always want my hobbies to be fun.
So i come to the meetings for the main purpose of socialising with my fellow discus keepers.
Wayne
