I have 5 mature 2yrs+ discus in a 200 litre tank....There has been a continual shuffling of authority over the years with one of my largest turq's not eating for what seems to be months, two fish very aggressive and a pair that wants there own corner......
I have within the last 5 days installed a night light (used a couple of bright white LED's) which provide a very DIM light at night. I noticed they fish group around the light at night, it only lights one corner of the tank.
Since installing the light these 5 fish seem to be getting on very very well the fish that didn't eat very well is now integrated with the other fish, colour is up and all fish seem content.
I know this sounds stupid...I think I'm go'n a little fishy thinking that my fish can socialise with one-another...however would luv somebody else with a community tank of Discus to try this and see if a similar result is achieved.
cheers
