Feeding Decapsulated Eggs

Just a short question, can i feed discus fry decapsulated eggs? And how do i feed them, i just rinse the eggs in water for a couple of minutes and then feed it directly to them?

Also i have a big pack of decapsulated eggs but they i bought them around 2 years ago and never used them, they are still sealed air tight in the package and stored in a drawer. Will this still be alright to feed?

What are the disadvantages of feeds decaps rather that hatching them.

What's the price of brine shrimp eggs anyway?

Hi Tommy, welcome to the forum.

You can certainly feed unhatched decapsulated brine shrimp eggs, but they are more nutritious if you allow them to hatch. The fry are more attracted to them too, because they move. Discus fry seem to take a long time to learn to pick food off the bottom of the tank.

I also read somewhere that you can cook them in the microwave before feeding. Sounds like an idea, but I think I'll stick with hatching them. :lol:
