Hello akroyd, and welcome to the forum. Don't I know you from somewhere 8-)
I would hate to think that our wet pets are illegal imports, despite the fact that they are indeed hybrids.
Might have to do some research on this for you :book
I'll get back to you shortly.
BTW we don't argue, but we do encourage lively discussion :whip

 Nice to see you start a controversy here.....
Guess I'd have to ask, are u a lumper or a splitter?
Should guppies, mollies, swordtails etc be allowable imports? By your implication, the hobby will be non-exisitant pretty soon.

Hey Kev,
To be a lumper or splitter implies some confidence in either Darwin or Linnaeus.
It's not my implication, it's your inference, that it is the end of the world as we know it.
The law is an ass. ( hate to be so cliche)
Symphysodon sp. are importable by my understanding, but I think sp. means species, not hybrid, though I may be wrong.
I agree on mollies, angels ,swords, oscars etc.
The only sensible answer is to abolish the permissible import list and have a federal noxious list.
Then again, i might be talking shit, I started drinking a while back. :P
