Hi all,

I came across a website which is advertising lobster roe as the ultimate colour enhancer which has been used only by a few hobbyist as they were rare and expensive. I am very interested to try and therefore would like find out if anyone has tried feeding lobster roe?

I wonder if it is legal?

I know that in NSW if it is Freshwater Lobster it is illegal. In NSW if you catch a Lobster in the River and it has roe attached you are supposed to by law put the Lobster back in the River.

Hi Margot,

The product is sold in Singapore and comes frozen just like bloodworms. As my relatives fly to and fro frequently I was considering getting some. With regards to quarantine, I think it should not be a problem as my relatives occasionally bring in seafood. As they were frozen or cooked AQIS did allow it through.
