does the good bacteria grow on bio balls and ceramic noodles??

yes bio-ball and the noodles are very benificial to the filter. i would suggest heaps of bio-balls!

Thanks mate. 8-) ive got a box of ehime substrate pro, pack of bio balls and pack of noodles for a 150L tank. u reckon thats plenty?

depends on how many fish you want to put into your tank :)
But personally, i have no idea how you know if you ever have enough.
The more you have, the less chance of having problems concerning benificial bacteria... i guess.
I have two canisters, and a over hang on a similar sized tank as yours... but thats just how i do things.... in excess :)
yours seems fine.

i thinking of having approx 3 - 4 discus. maybe couple of blue rams and cardinals. and 2 - 4 bristle nose. thats pretty much it.
my tank is an aquaone ar620T so the original filterin it does 550L/ph
and i also have a canister cf1200 (1200l/ph) so im like u also excess.
let me know wat u think about this.
