fin nipping

we have 3 discus, 1 larger and 2 smaller. The 2 smaller ones are battling for 2nd place in the tank and are sometimes pretty aggressive. They have stand offs where they face each other and bite each others lips (thats what it looks like)

is this normal behavour (spelling?)

Also, one of them has a bit missing off its pectoral fin, will this grow back?

Very normal behaviour. We must remember that our discus are cichlids after all :D

The small piece of fin removed from the pectoral fin will soon re grow and look perfectly normal again. :wink:

they all have their own likes and dislikes....that is what makes discus keeping so interesting....they could be playing ....Jim
