My newies from Rod Lewis

These photo's don't do any justice to these beautiful 4 new discus that Rod kindly sent me. They are taken with my phone camera because for some reason I can't seem to find my digital. They are 2 red pb, a golden x red melon and my favorite by far an alenquer x turq. I had quite a nervous wait for them at the airport (heavy storms and several cancelled flights) but I was amazed at how well they held up. Eating like pigs straight out of the bag, very clam when they were moved up into my display tank with my 4 red turqs. Not much bullying going on, though the golden x melon likes to think he rules the tank. Eating my bh mix now and have settled in really well. Everyone who comes to visit instantly comments on just how nice they are. My LFS guy is comming round sometime next week to take a look too. Once again big thanks to Rod Lewis, for sending me such beauties and putting up with multiple emails from me.

Katie - Those Alenquer x Turks are very similar to my wild caught Blues from the Alenquer region in Brazil. Have a look at these photos of my wildies. If you can breed yours, I'd definitely buy some fry and get some new blood for my guys to breed with.

I sure am Junior, I bother Rod about them ever couple of weeks. I am hoping that he will come back from Aquarama with some beauties for me. I have got a 2ft cube just begging to have some Alenquers in it. Can't wait. They were the first discus that I ever saw and it was love at first sight!

Hi Katie, looking good. Glad you liked the discus i sent you. Kep them well fed and they will grow into awesome discus for you. I looked everywhere in Singapore for alenquer discus to buy with no luck, seems not many breeders are concentrating on those types any more. :(

Squid, yeah my alenquer crosses do look a lot like your wild ones, i love that wild look and try very hard to achieve that with them. Actually i set up a new pair before i went to Singapore and my darling wife successfully bred them for me, i came home to 100 beautiful F2 free swimming babies :)
