Hi,
I have a pigeon blood pair which produced 75 fries which are now about 9 months old. The male parent has been observed to have a more pointed dorsal fin than the female. Today I am hoping to get a few pairs from 8 of the largest fries that were kept. However only 1 off the 8 fishes seem to have the pointed dorsal fin. Is there a possibility that another fish from the same spawn may be a male despite having rounded fins? Do the female fishes have an earlier growth spurt before the males ultimately overtaking them in size?
