I just purchased 4 more discus, around 5-6 inches and they are currently in a 30 gal tank.

I was just wondering what these were, especially the ones with the bars across the eyes.

I know that one of the other one is a marlboro red and the other one is a fuji red. Just unsure of the barred ones.

Thanks

Red turqs or what? The guy told me he was told they were red spotted greens.

I would be thinking Red or Pearl Turq's

Not enough spotting to be RSG's although I could be wrong

Okay, thanks a lot for the fast replys :)

I have another question, how long does it usually take for pigeon bloods to get their patterns/colours.

I purchased 8 pigeon bloods crossed with white dragon and right now they have orangey colour and a couple has peppering. Also, I have 2 pieces with a brownish base but one of them has blue markings on the fins and the other has some blue markings but has reddish colour on the body and fins, they both have bars across the eyes also.

This is definately the most frustrating part of the hobby. I'll be same when I make my first purchase,
"I'll take one of .. those, and one of ... those. "

Hi Brian, the intensity of the red would suggest 'Red Turquoise' bit it's not easy to tell from that picture.

I can assure you they are not Red Spotted Greens.

Nice looking fish you've got there. You can expect the colour of the reds to intensify as they age. Feeding them with Tetra 'Colour Bits will help enhance their natural colouring.
