newbie how do u tell if a discus is girl or boy

I got a pair of blue turqs fairly young and i was just wandering whether if they were a breeding pair or not and when discus start breeding

you cant really tell the sex when they really young. You have to wait until they're about 12 months and then you can tell the difference .

Hi Darth, and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your first purchase. It is impossible to tell the sex of young discus, and it can be difficult to even tell the sex of mature discus. The best we can do is an educated guess.

If you want to breed, it is best to start out with about six young fish, and allow them to pair off naturally.
