Hi,

I've created a new website about Indonesian Discus and it's breeders. The idea behind the website is to share with all the discus hobbyist the Discus that the local breeders bred and the story of the breeders behind it.

The website will be updated quite often with new information about Discus and it's breeders. The website address is www.discusofindonesia.com

The website will always be a work in progress but the content is there already. See the left section on the main page, there is a link to one of the breeder (there is only 1 breeder at the moment, but soon there will be more :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: )

It's me again :D, hope you guys don't get bored of me ;)

I've updated the website with a new breeder profile, his name is Daniel. He is a jolly and happy going person. His Discus is unbeliveable, never have I see so many beautiful, healthy and BIG Discus before. When I was there I was like a kid in a candy store, cannot take my eyes of his collection, it was really beyond what words can describe. His dicus will be participating in Aquarama's contest.

He have got 2 strain that he has created. The latest strain will be launched in 2-3 months time and it is called INDONESIAN MARBLE. The other one which is already in the market is called RED SCRIBBLE SNAKESKIN, and the current batch is F4 generation.

I've updated the website with a new breeder profile, his name is Sandy (http://www.discusofindonesia.com/breeders/sandy.htm). Very nice and down to earth person and fun to talk with.

Sandy's implemented what he called "PLASTIC TUB GROWOUT SYSTEM" where he use normal plastic tub to grow out his fries of 2 weeks to 1/2 inch (+/- 1 mth old). In this growout system he installed a dripped system, to enable the flow of constant fresh for the fries, with the dripped system he is able to change 200% of the water daily, without affecting the water parameter drastically.

That is different, and there are ways that it can be detected.

We look at more than just the ip :wink:

(by looking at the posts, the content, the email account used, wording, etc)

single posts, offering nothing more than a blurb of words = spam.

Hi Dreamer,

If you are planning to hunt Discus it's better if you go to the breeder directly because the one in the LFS are not very good quality you can get very high quality directly from the breeder because most of the LFS don't want the risk to stock up high quality Discus.

He has done some wild discus breeding and currently his Heckel x RSG crossing is 2 inches in size.

Hi,

It's time that of that week again boys and girls :D

I have updated the website with a new profile, this time I'm interviewing a very unique individual, as it is very very very hard to come across this kind of individual in Discus world. His name is Djuju Anthony, he is a hobbyist,breeders, traders, exporter and discus maniac. He is the owner of Marina Discus.

He has participated in ALL the major discus competition in the world AND to top it all he always come back with some title never come back home empty handed. He had been invited before as a judge for discus competition in Singapore and Japan.

His network of contact with ALL the major breeders in the world (especially Asia) is really truly amazing, and he know the who's who in the Discus world very well as they are not only his discus friends but also a true friend, which is very very rare nowadays.

Hi,

I've updated the website with another new profile, this time it's a bit different. I'm profiling a hobbyist who is committee of the Discus Club Jakarta, his name is Erwin. He is responsible for the contest and research department of Klub Diskus Jakarta.

There are not many picture this time as he is only a hobbyist BUT the information about contest and club is really interesting. I learned something when I interviewed him that is if you want to run a fish club may that be Discus or any other fish you need dedication, passion and time, if you don't have that then it's better don't start something that you cannot finish.

He has travelled to other country to see Discus and other fish competition and has seen the good and bad about it, not to mention the political and the controversy behind it. Because of this he believe in organizing Discus contest that is OPEN and FAIR so everybody can really come to enjoy the fish and the hobby to the fullest extent. Many members from different countries have ever visited the Discus Club Jakarta to learn more about their system and the way they organize contest.

I've updated the website with another interesting breeder. He is known as "Mr. Spotted" and you must have guess it right, he is a specialist in breeding spotted Discus. Currently his breeding pairs are F4 generations and is looking pretty purdy every time I take a look at it :D

It's that time of the week again where I have updated the website.

This week you will see Hadi profiled in the website. He has got 20+ years experienced as a commercial breeders and his vast knowledge is really amazing. He like any other breeders in the world have it's share of fighting against "Discus Plague" and manage to cure them but at the end of the day decided to throw all away his stocks and restart everything, which was a very wise decision.
