Hi in my comunity tank I have a pair of Turqs, After 10pm the lights go out.At the moment they have spawned again, now does a pair need a night light to look after the new spawn. Because they constantly blow on them and do what ever it is they do.
Im just getting in some practice before I go on holidays, because when I come back there going in my breeding tank.

Yes I do leave a light on 24/7 when a pair have eggs, right up till the time the fry are around 2 weeks old.
Other breeders may do things differently, but I find this works for me.

Would you have to leave the lights on if they were in a breeding tank by themselves ?

i have heard a lot of people will just turn a lamp on and face it towards the breeding tank during the night so there is some light but not full lights

Hi psx yes I do leave a small light on in the breeding tank when the pair are on their own.
It helps the fry to find their parents at night, and they seem to grow at a faster rate.
Matt, I just use a small lamp near the tank at night. During the day, they have the full tank light on.
