From standard 3 footer to 4 footers.
Easilt get away with a 2 footer, but must do daily water changes on a tank that size!
The thing i notice with my pairs in 4 footers is they keep on growing very well!
while the pairs in 3 footers slow down on the growth.
Sponge in all my tanks, get washed every monday in warm water.
Just remember one thing, it will be cheaper to keep a 2 foot breeding tank heated than a 4 foot tank!

Ryan, question for you.
Are you making the cube tanks your self or are you buying them?
if so how much?
I am thinking of getting 1/2 dozen cube tanks for breeding purposes.
Cheers,
Ben

standard 4 foot tank with a glass divider in the middle, worked well when i was breeding Discus 8 years ago. Will do the same when my Discus pair off.
Had the tank built with a glass divider. Can keep 2 breeing pairs in 1 tank that way =)

im thinking 3ft by 2ft by 2ft would be the way for me to go. i was originally thinking 2 cubed but that bit of extra room would be handy.

Ben,
At the lfs where i work part time we sell 2 foot cube tanks out of 10mm for $140.
I use 24" x 20" x 20" for breeding my discus, they are 6mm and cost about $50.

Cheers Rod,
its interesting that making it slightly smaller and using thinner glass makes the price almost a third cheaper!
On a 24" x 20" x 20" do you water change evryday, or can you get away with doing it every second day?
Thanks again,
Ben

Just what you normally do, a slight bit cooler might get them spawning. But other than that it depends on the bio load and production of nitrates...

Ben, just normal maintenance.
Yeah it is amazing how much more expensive a 10mm tank is compared to a 6mm.
