Just very curious about the type of lighting people use for their tanks.

Nothing special. Just the normal double fluro lights, but then again, I don't have planted tanks, just a few low light plants grafted to driftwood.

As Merylin said, depends on the tank. A heavily planted tank might have a metal halide but for bare bottoms a simple flouro is all that is needed..

I have metal halide. If I was to buy lights again for a heavy planted I would be getting those power compact fluros. Does nearly the same as mh without the huge price tag and doesn't eat as much electricity

know where i can get some pwoer compact fluros in brisbane? lol
ive seen people wiht 400w in one tube >.<
