Let me start with a little background:
I had been intending on doing an ADA style tank, around about 50G, and my friends all put in some cash to help me get there.
However, as I did more research, and thought about my past tank-keeping exercises, i knew how much time was going to be taken in general maintenance, and that is time that I simply dont have at the moment.
Couple this with the potential for masses of water flooding through my apartment, that is the last thing I needed.
While we were travelling through Europe over winter I discovered the BiOrb Air, a 50cm spherical terrarium.
I've seen BiOrb's plenty over the years, I never felt that they would work for me to do an aquarium, but as a terrarium/palladium it really appealed to me, and more importantly, the wife quite liked the look of it, and it matches my desire for maintenance down to a T, and couple that with not having do have filter, pump, co2, lights etc all plugged in, the BiOrb Air has just 1 24V transformer, the lighting is pre-determined 1hr sunrise, 11hours full sun, 1hour sunset.
Starting to grow in quite nicely. I've got a few things that I'm attempting to take from Submerged to Emerged, so far only minimal yellowing.
I borrowed the Hydrometer from work to confirm the Humidity levels, it is spot on inside.
Finally found a use for the Lazy Susan I was given for my birthday(the same birthday that financed the purchase)
Planted 10 days ago. Saw it misting for the first time over the weekend, but it hasn't been much above about 22deg in sydney for the last few weeks.
Hope you like it, because I love it!
